A Heart of England Community Energy-funded project has published its annual report, outlining much-needed community support work completed over the year.
Energy charity Act on Energy, has been helping households across South Warwickshire with the ongoing challenges of high energy costs.
Funded through HECE’s Community Fund, the £35,000 project provided direct financial support and practical energy-saving measures to vulnerable households between December 2024 and November 2025.
A total of 67 households received support through fuel payment credits, prepayment meter vouchers and assistance with low-level energy debt. The program delivered thousands in direct energy support, helping families and individuals stay warm and maintain access to essential energy supplies during periods of financial hardship.
Alongside financial assistance, the outreach work funded a range of energy-saving measures including heated blankets and thermally efficient radiator reflector packs. These practical interventions are designed to improve comfort, reduce energy consumption and help households lower their bills over the longer term.
Most of the support was directed towards families, who represented around two-thirds of all households assisted. Support was also provided to other vulnerable households, including residents living with disabilities. The program flexible approach ensured that assistance could be tailored to individual circumstances and delivered when it was needed most.
This latest funding builds on HECE’s ongoing commitment to tackling fuel poverty and supporting local communities. By reinvesting income generated from its community-owned solar farm into projects that deliver social and environmental benefits, HECE continues to demonstrate how locally generated renewable energy can create lasting positive impacts for people across South Warwickshire.
HECE would like to thank the team at Act on Energy for their continued dedication and expertise in identifying eligible households, delivering support and ensuring that funding reaches those most in need.
The charity have confirmed they are considering a future funding application which the Heart of England Board have expressed interest in welcoming.
