Heart of England Community Energy (HECE) is proud to highlight the ongoing success of its

partnership with Act on Energy, a local charity dedicated to providing energy advice and

support.

Since receiving a £26,500 grant from HECE’s community fund in late 2024, Act on Energy has

made a meaningful difference for households struggling with energy costs across Stratford

and Warwick District Councils.

The funding has been used to offer fuel payment credits, fuel vouchers for prepayment

accounts and small energy-efficient measures, helping families and individuals to stay warm

and manage their energy bills.

Between February and May 2025, 47 households received direct fuel payment credits and

vouchers totalling just under £20,000. Support was carefully tailored to meet the needs of

families, individuals and those living with disabilities, ensuring that funds reached the most

vulnerable.

In addition to financial relief, the grant provided energy-saving measures and packages such

as radfoils, energy-efficient lightbulbs, draughtproofing and heated blankets or throws to 42

households, helping make life at home warmer, more comfortable while also reducing

energy use and bills.

HECE’s grant has also covered a portion of the administrative work carried out by Act on

Energy’s team, who work tirelessly to identify eligible households and ensure that support

reaches those who need it most. As such our community energy group has directly enabled

the granting of over £22,000.

HECE reinvests its surplus income into community projects across South Warwickshire,

focusing on alleviating fuel poverty, addressing social deprivation and promoting carbon

reduction. With its 15MW solar array near Stratford-upon-Avon, HECE generates around

13.5 million kWh of clean energy each year. The income generated from selling this

renewable energy to the grid is reinvested directly back into the local community, funding

projects that deliver both social and environmental impact.
