While the summer of 2025 may have brought plenty of sunshine, it hasn’t stopped Act on Energy, working in partnership with Heart of England Community Energy (HECE), from supporting vulnerable households across the region in preparation for the colder months ahead.
Since June, Act on Energy has provided tailored support to 81 households across the Stratford and Warwick districts, helping residents improve their energy efficiency and reduce financial strain.
The assistance has included:
Direct financial support for those struggling with energy debt
A bundle of energy-saving items, such as electric blankets, high-efficiency LED lightbulbs, and draught excluders
The small-measures energy efficiency bundle proved to be the most in-demand service, offering quick wins for households looking to cut energy use and stay warm at home.
John Stott, Chair of HECE, said: “While the weather may have been warm, many of the people we support are already worried about what winter will bring.
“It’s wonderful to see that Act on Energy has been working hard to get ahead of the curve, helping people to save energy so that the burden is lighter when temperatures drop.”
John added: “Act on Energy is continuing to demonstrate its value as a key partner of HECE."
This continued work builds on HECE’s mission to reinvest the surplus income from its local solar farm into community initiatives that support both social and environmental goals.
With rising energy prices and many families still feeling the impact of cost-of-living pressures, it is hoped the partnership will continue to help those in need in Warwick and Stratford areas.
HECE is also helping Stratford foodbank, Citizens Advice South Warwickshire and several other local organisations who assist those in need.
